Fundraising



Raising funds helps our literacy programs expand, and research supports the fact that the best way to raise money is to simply ask for it. But, many library staff, Friends members and volunteers are reluctant to do this. This article is all about the four kinds of styles people have in making the ask.  It says that there is not “one right asking style”. We all can do it by using our strengths.

I am Sandy Newell with the Bureau of Library Development. I took the quiz and found out that I am a Kindred Spirit. The other styles are Rainmaker, Go-Getter and Mission Controller. Even though this is a commercial site, it provides context to motivate everyone to make the ask.
