National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read Grants

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read is accepting applications from non-profit organizations to develop community-wide reading programs between September 2016 and June 2017. NEA Big Read is a national program that broadens our understanding of our world, our communities and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book.

Organizations selected to participate in the program receive a grant, educational and promotional materials, and access to online training resources and opportunities. Approximately 75 organizations from across the country will be selected. Funding ranges from $5,000 to $20,000.

First Draft of Grant Application Due Friday

For another year, VALF is awarding one or more grants to volunteer literacy programs in Florida. The application is a two-step process. A draft is due this Friday, January 15. VALF will review the draft and give applicants feedback on how to improve your proposal. The final application is due March 18.

Your organization needs to be a VALF member before March 18 to be considered. It only costs $25 to join.
