Free E-books for Learning Disabled

Bookshare provides Accessible Books and Periodicals for Readers with Print Disabilities.  It is as free for all U.S. students with qualifying disabilities, thanks to an award from the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

This is a searchable online library. Bookshare offers over 134,000 digital books, textbooks, teacher-recommended reading, periodicals and assistive technology tools. Ten New York Times bestsellers are added each month.

How to Qualify
If you are a K-12 student in the U.S. who has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) with a specific language learning disability and a need for text accommodations, your school should be able to confirm that you qualify and sign you up for Bookshare membership. Post-secondary, adult, or non-U.S. students should be able to obtain equivalent qualifications if they have a significant learning disability that affects reading.
