Tips for Signing up for Health Care

Division of Library and Information Services

Dear Sandy,

HealthCare.gov has been working diligently to improve its website, and make applying and enrolling for health insurance much easier. Here are a few tips to help patrons make their experience with HealthCare.gov run smoothly:
  • Shop HealthCare.gov during off peak hours, such as, mornings, nights and weekends.
  • Patrons should have their income and tax information ready when they log on.
  • Patrons should comparison shop to get the best deal.
  • If patrons need to talk to someone, use the Call Center at: 800.318.2596. Help is available 24/7, in 150 different languages.
  • Patrons can also find in person help in their area by using localhelp.healthcare.gov.
Stay informed. Subscribe to the E-Government and Workforce mailing list to receive additional information on the Health Insurance Marketplace.
